It’s been a new way of life on the gig front. Throughout this whole year, I’ve wandered into my small backyard for some 20/20-focused work details under the sun be it spring, summer, fall and winter as the year 2020 transitioned into 2021. My constant sun spec companion throughout this time has been a frame gifted to me by our own Barry Santini. It is a handmade frame called The Colza from eyewear artisan Brian McGinn, De Selby Limited. Barry deftly describes it as a beige crystal front with tortoise temples. The custom lens shading (which makes it ideal for working on the computer out in the sun) is a custom chocolate brown gradient tint Rxed by lens specialist Scott Balestreri at Bad Ass Optical. It is an amazing complement to the temper of the frame. The cherished leather McGinn case with a nifty snap closure, created from leather by a Scottish company called Pringle bears the salutation Padre. Barry always calls me that. I’m not sure why but I’m deeply honored. I love this pair of glasses.
